Welcome To The PLS PTO

Posted by:

Welcome to the PLS PTO! Did you know that as a parent of a student at PLS, you’re also in the school’s PTO (Parent Teacher Organization)? We are organizing for the 2011-2012 school year, and have several parents who are interested in becoming more involved with the school. We’d love to have you join us!

Coming up: Monday, October 10th at 6pm, we will have a short meeting to elect new officers and get the ball rolling for the events this year. We will be voting for all positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Volunteer Coordinator. Any and all parents/grandparents are invited to this meeting next week.

Are you interested in becoming more active, but don’t want to take on a specific roll? Please come anyway, as this will be a great time to meet the other parents involved, and will be a time that you can volunteer to help with a specific fundraising event or activity within the school. There are some fabulous events planned for the upcoming year: the Blue Jay Blast is just around the corner, we have the Social Studies and Book Fairs next Spring, not to mention the Cookie Dough and Wreath/Poinsetta fundraisers. In addition to the fundraisers, there is always a need for help with events like the Teacher Appreciations and Conference dinners for staff.

These are just a sample of the great activities planned this year! Yes!  Share hours are applicable towards your time & efforts on behalf of the PTO! Please contact Pam Merritt (503-667-3199 ext 354  pmerritt@portland-lutheran.org ) if you have any questions, or if you’re interested in a position but are unable to make it to the meeting on Oct. 10th. Also, please note that in general, the PTO meetings will take place the first Monday of each month in the Library at 6 PM.
