Can You Help a Child Read?  Did you know that 1 in 5 students suffers from dyslexia?  That doesn’t even include other reading difficulties encountered by students.  We are hoping to obtain specialized materials that will help our faculty, tutors, and volunteers work more effectively and efficiently with these students so that they can be successful now and in the future.  One set of materials for the first level costs $250.  If you are willing and able to contribute toward ...

Honor Roll Students 5th-8th Grade

3rd Quarter Honor Roll—Students in 5th-8th grade can qualify for either honor roll or high honor roll.  Honor roll includes those students earning a 3.0 to 3.49 Grade Point Average.  High honor roll consists of those students earning a 3.5 GPA or above.  Those who earned a 4.0 GPA are indicated with an asterisk.  Way to go Blue Jays!

Mr. Tarbell Receives Grant

PORTLAND, OREGON – April 13, 2012 – Portland Lutheran School (PLS) science instructor, Kieffer Tarbell, has been chosen to be a participant in the Partners in Science program of the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. Mr. Tarbell, the only science teacher in East County to be chosen for the Partners in Science program, joins 15 other teachers from the Pacific Northwest in this year’s class of Partners.
