Blue Jays for Life – The Common Thread For A 110 Years!
Are you an alumnus? Did you call yourself a Blue Jay ―back in the day‖? You may be a PLS Blue Jay, a LuHi Blue Jay, or a Concordia Blue Jay, but you are a Blue Jay none-the-less.
There are more common threads than our mascot that run through all of us. It may be the people; Mr. Lorenz, Pastor Ruhnke, Mrs. Kunert, ―Thurm‖, Pastor Strand, and so forth. If your story is like many others, you grew profoundly due to your interaction with one of your teachers, administrators, or coaches. You might credit your high school years as being a significant time in the development of your relationship to Christ. You may have experienced extra-curricular activities, such as athletics, leadership, or clubs, which have led to vocations or avocations.
Like many, you were equipped to change the world. Your story is unique. We would like to celebrate it with you. We would also like to share your story with current Blue Jays so they can see the power of that transformation.
We are taking steps to increase our support and communication to alumni. There is an increase in the number of classes planning and scheduling reunions or parties as well as more alumni getting involved at PLS. In response, you have seen us upgrading all of our communication through email and Facebook. These require accurate information. If you are an alumnus, we invite you to take action in one or two areas:
- Like our Portland Lutheran School Facebook page
- Click on the Alumni contact form below. You will find an easy form to fill in so we can update your contact information. Your contact information will also allow us to do a better job of helping classes arrange reunions and other get-togethers such as the one this Fall from September 11th through the 13th. We will also contact you to learn about your story.
Your participation is truly valued. One of the biggest joys we can have is to watch students have transformational experiences. Your participation can help make that happen with more and more Blue Jays.
